MERION MEMORIAL PARK

Merion Memorial Park is a 31-acre cemetery that is over 100 years old. It was originally owned by Mr. James Smart, a man who loved and respected people from all walks of life. Mr. Smart established this Memorial Park for people of all colors and religions. Over time, the Merion Memorial has been passed down from generation to generation.

On November 13, 1884, John J. Laird and his wife Katie purchased the property. Later, it was acquired by the Honorable Hopson Reynolds, his wife Evelyn, and their business associates and long-time friends, the White family.

Merion Memorial Park is an essential component of Lower Merion and Bala Cynwyd's rich history, deeply ingrained in the community's cultural fabric.
